We are happy to announce the arrival of our newest staff member, Maranda Hansley. Maranda is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner licensed to practice in Alabama. Our goal at Foundations is to increase the quality and scope of services that are available in our area, so we are delighted to have Maranda on our team. Her knowledge of psychiatry will allow her to serve our clients in waShe will work side-by-side with our other clinical staff to make sure that each of our clients have the best care possible.

Maranda specializes in medication management for psychiatric issues for clients age 16 and up. She is currently paneling with BCBS of AL, Alabama Medicaid, Medicare, United Healthcare, Tricare, and other major payers and sees also sees clients who opt for private pay. Maranda is based at our East Limestone location and sees clients there, as well as virtually. Now, a few words from her!

"Hi! I am Maranda Hansley, and I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. My experiences have been in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked with patients with mood disorders, psychotic spectrum disorders, substance use disorders, trauma/stress related conditions, eating disorders, etc. I have a passion for preventative care services, and that is what I believe to be the purpose of outpatient psychiatric services. I want to be part of the solution before it becomes a higher level crisis.

I plan to work with clients to come to a shared decision on medication management, including whether or not it is the best course of action as this may vary from individual to individual. Together we will weigh the benefits and risks of treatment options, always opting for whatever offers the most safety and accessibility. I will always encourage patients to seek counseling services, as studies show that outcomes are better when therapy is incorporated. Please note that I do not plan to utilize controlled substances (benzodiazepines, stimulants, opiates) in medication management at this time.

I have lived in Alabama for the past three years and have become well-versed in the psychiatric resources available. Originally, I am from southeastern North Carolina. In my free time, you can find me cheering on my alma mater’s Tar Heels during football and basketball season. Aside from that, I have two fur babies (bunny rabbits – please ask for pictures!) that occupy mine and my husband’s time at home. I look forward to getting to work with the talented individuals of Foundations and the people of the surrounding communities."
