We are grateful for the growth that our community has allowed us to experience this year. Without your support, we could not do the work that we love of supporting our neighbors however we can. To give back to our cherished community this holiday season, we are organizing a clothing drive for children in foster care in Limestone County.
This year, thousands of children will be placed in foster care across our state. These children are often placed in foster care unexpectedly and may be able to bring the things they need with them to their placed home. In order to assure their wellbeing, we want to make sure that they have access to essential goods at a moment's notice wherever they are placed.
We are partnering with Limestone County DHR to provide these essential goods to the children they assume custody of, starting this holiday season. The most requested items are socks and coats (of any size), and we will be happy to accept other clothing items. Both of our offices are participating in this clothing drive, so anyone can drop off or send donations to either of our locations in the Athens-Limestone area.
Additionally, both of our offices now have permanent donation closets that will be used to help supply children as they transition into placement. Right now, we are only accepting clothing, and anything is appreciated! Thank you for your support, we are truly blessed to be a part of this warm community.
