About the Role
Foundations Counseling Center will employ a psychiatric physician who is fully licensed to practice in the state of Alabama as a full time, staff psychiatrist to increase the scope and quality of services rendered by Foundations Counseling.

Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of medicine and possession of a medical degree (M.D. or D.O.)
- Completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program
- An unencumbered license to practice medicine in the state of Alabama
- No previous criminal convictions
- Must maintain professional licensure and uphold thr professional, legal, and ethical standards of psychiatry
- Ability to work during normal hours of operations (Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM)
- Enthusiasm to serve psychiatric patients to the best of one's ability
- Maintain professional liability insurance
- Ability to render non-medical and medical interventions on behalf of patients according to their individual needs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine the mental health needs of patients
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with behavioral health disorders
- Provide ongoing psychiatric care and medication management to patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Document patient information accurately and timely in medical records
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Provide crisis intervention and support to patients in acute distress
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies
- Uphold the professional, legal, and ethical standards of psychiatry
- Represent the values of Foundations Counseling and practice with consideration for patients as whole people
- Render 25-30 billable hours of service per week, on average
- Collaborate with PMHNP-BC providers within Foundations' group
Skills:
- Strong background in behavioral health and experience working with individuals of all ages, including children and adolescents
- Post-residency experience in psychiatry is preferred
- Proficient in conducting diagnostic evaluations and utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities
- Excellent medical documentation skills, ensuring accurate and thorough patient records
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professional boundaries
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
- Knowledge of data collection methods and ability to analyze data for quality improvement purposes

Salary: $210,000- $240,000 annually
