Anxiety
If you are suffering from anxiety, rest assured, you are not alone. Anxiety is the most common mental health concern in the United States, with almost 20% of adults and 7% of children experiencing feelings of anxiousness.
Anxiety can come in many forms- from stress and panic attacks to social anxiety and any number of phobias. The end result is often a persistent state of nervousness and worry that can directly impact the quality of your life. Anxiety can also be exhausting- quite literally.
Since nervous energy is experienced in the body, your therapist will use several tools to help you feel more settled, such as breathing and relaxation techniques. Your therapist will also employ cognitive behavioral therapy to get to the root of your anxiety, as well as manage the symptoms. The goal is to help you learn how to deal with the sensation of anxiety without allowing it to take over.
If you think anxiety is interfering with your daily life, we’re here to help.
